Krzysztof J Filipiak
Krzysztof J. Filipiak, MD, PhD, FESC, is a specialist in cardiology, internal medicine, hypertensiology, and clinical pharmacology. He graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw, starting his career in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, and subsequently in the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology, where he currently holds professor position. Research and clinical internships in: Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Geneva, Milan. Since 2012, Prof. Filipiak is the Vice Dean for Science in the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Medical University of Warsaw. In Polish Cardiac Society (PCS), prof. Filipiak was the Chairman of Polish Top Junior Cardiologists “Club 30”, Chairman of PCS Section for Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, member of the Main Board, and the Treasurer of PCS. In European Society of Cardiology, he is a member of two working groups: on Acute Cardiac Care and on Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Drug Therapy. Serves as the member of the Main Board in Polish Society of Hypertension. His main interests include: acute coronary syndromes, arterial hypertension, dyslipidaemias, heart failure, stable angina, cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, evidence-based medicine methodology. Co-editor of several textbooks, including first Polish complete monography on statins (“Statins – the clinical pharmacology”), and co-author of over 190 papers indexed in PubMed MEDLINE; according to Google Scholar database (April, 2015): 1640 citations, Hirsch index=18, i-10 index=36. Since 2012, the Editor-in-chief of KARDIOLOGIA POLSKA [Polish Heart Journal] – the official journal of PCS.
